I am in my second yea of teaching seminary. Tomorrows lesson is on Enos 1. I was drawn to your blog because I was searching for renderings of Enos wrestle before God. I think a lot of times we misinterpret his wrestle as a wrestle with God and not a wrestle within himself and his shortcomings. This wrestle with himself is a submission of his flesh and now answers to his spirit. As I read your research and went back tot he text in Genesis, I couldn't help but see Jacob in a similar circumstance. We know that Enos's wrestle was before God, could it have been the same for Jacob and that his wrestle earned him a new name? Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
